Hugo's exudes a warm, comfortable seriousness evocative of the libraries, lodges and social clubs of yore, with an undeniably contemporary twist. We wanted our design to lend itself to immersion in a series of special moments. The logotype and the vernacular were inspired by turn-of-the-century Portland. A local bookbinder constructed the artful menu folders from book cloth and custom-dyed lush leather. Simple, gold leaf signage greets arriving diners and frames the beautiful interior for passers-by. An evening at Hugo's is a well considered experience.
