Might & Main

Intelligent Brandsmithery | Established 2010

Why the Name?

“With might and main” is an Old English phrase, originating in the late thirteenth century. It means “with all of one’s effort and strength; with all the vigor, force or energy at one's command.” At Might & Main, everything we do gets everything we’ve got.

As a local design professional and alum of Maine College of Art, I am delighted to be a regular guest at design critiques and reviews. When we decided to start bringing paid interns to Might & Main, I knew exactly where to look.

What happens when the chefs at Eventide Oyster Co. are nominated for a national award? Well, they make a video and approach Might & Main to help them design and launch a full-scale campaign, of course.

The Lounge at 408 Fore St

After about 3 years in our space at 28 Maple Street, Might & Main has moved into new digs at 408 Fore Street (suite 3A). Our old space served us well, and we left it better than we found it (two renovations, one new floor, and about 6 less walls later), and we couldn’t be more excited about the new space.

Beginning with Thanksgiving and ending after the New Year, we are inundated with the commercials, customs, obligations, sights, smells, and sounds of the season. At Might & Main, some of us grow weary of all the fuss surrounding this time of year. But regardless of your traditions, the last month of the year does provide a natural end point—a moment to pause, reflect, and take stock of where you are, what you've done, and what you have. All of us are fortunate in one way or another, and at Might & Main we have many things to be grateful for, indeed.
